A few taps and swipes, and in a matter of seconds you’re well underway to giving your device a much-needed facelift. Anyway hope this helps.You’re likely familiar with the scenario: a quick glance at your phone and a notification reveals that a new software update is available. You should also be able to go into iDrive, vehicle settings, Apps I think (I'd have to double check the exact path next time I'm in my car, but I think you'll find it in the apps sections) and re-trigger the check for updates in case it didn't finish your download properly. By the time I returned to the car, it had successfully installedĪlso have my My BMW Settings page in the attached image if it helps. I was on my way to a Christmas lunch so exited, locked up, and took my phone with me. ![]() ![]() A message came up saying "you can exit the vehicle, lock up/leave".I accepted and clicked continue to install on iDrive, and if I'm not mistaken I think the next installation step asked me to activate the hand brake to continue.Once I came to a stop and tuned off the engine, iDrive notified me the update was ready to install.I think it then synced the updates next time I used the vehicle.I got a notification on the My BMW app (I've got the iPhone version) saying the upgrade was ready. ![]() How did you go about your download?
